The Emergency Department and Trauma Center team at The Queen’s Medical Center is prepared to save lives at a moment’s notice. We care for over 2,700 trauma patients annually, including the most severely injured adults and children in Hawaii and Pacific Basin and help lead the State of Hawaii Trauma System. ![]() Our dedication encompasses the entire spectrum of trauma care, from pre-hospital through rehabilitation, to meet this high national standard for quality. The Queen’s Medical Center is verified by the American College of Surgeons and designated by the Department of Health as Hawaii’s first and only Level 1 Trauma Center. The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu is Hawaii’s first designated Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level 1 Geriatric Emergency Department. By working closely with Emergency Medical Services (EMS), we ensure priority access to comprehensive medical care and hospital services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is the Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level 1 Trauma Center, Level 1 Geriatric, and has quality programs for STEMI and sepsis. The Emergency Department at The Queen’s Medical Center is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary care team staffed to treat acute illnesses and injuries in Hawaii. ![]()
